NEEDLEWORK FOR NOGALES CHILDREN (N4NC)
A small group of church women make a big difference in the lives of women and children residing just across the border in one of the poorest and under-served neighborhoods of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. The group began by making sweaters and other warm clothing for the children there. Soon though it turned toward helping the women of Hogar de Esperanza y Paz (HEPAC), which in English is the Home of Hope and Peace, achieve economic self-sufficiency by teaching them to sew and knit on their own.
We provide a financial contribution to this organization that provides networking and food-industry training for immigrants and refugees in Tucson.
